  1. Question: Holden is already leaving the school and likely won't see Stradlater again, so why is he willing to write the composition paper for him instead of rejecting the favor?

  2. Question: In the beginning of chapter three, Holden admits to being a liar. However, Holden has complained about phonies on numerous occasions. What is the difference between being a liar and being a phony? (How) Do these two things contradict each other?

  4. Question: In chapter 4 Holden says that Stradlater is a "Secret Slob". Why does he say this, is he jealous of Stradlater's looks and how little work he does to look the way he does?

  7. Question:

Do all the things he gets a "bang" out of have a common ground? Is there a common theme they seem to follow?
