Mona expected Hellen to embrace her change; however, Hellen was angry at Mona how she didn't want to keep her cultural background. Hellen was very unpleased with Mona's decision to leave 'disrespect' her family by leaving their traditions and culture; Mona was shock with Hellen's response. Overall, Mona wanted her mother to be happy and support her changing into a Jew but it seemed like she couldn't handle that her daughter was leaving her family and her culture for some other religion.
