Hello, my name is James and a story that had an impact on me is about Bill Briggs, "The father of extreme skiing." Bill Briggs was the first person ever to ski the Grand Teton in July, 1971. When he announced that he would ski down this peak people told him that it was too dangerous because of cliffs, couloirs, falling rock, etc. He didn't listen to them and he followed through with help from close friends. When they started the accent up the mountain Bill Briggs friends were worried about him since he had a surgically fused hip which caused him to limp when he walked. When they got to the top of the couloir leading to the snowfields to the top Bills friend said they wouldn't go to the peak, that left him alone to the rest of the accent to the peak. After some time past Bills friends witnessed an avalanche go past them and they thought Bill was dead until he reappeared in front of them. Many people to after him and stared doing extreme skiing on other large mountains. This is inspirational to me because he followed through with his dream while injured and without his friends helping him to the peak.
